As Peugeot says, ‘its name has not changed, but all the rest does.’ The French brand presents the Peugeot 5008 renewal, which more than a new generation can be considered a totally new model, since the large Peugeot MPV has just become a C-segment SUV with an interior of up to seven seats. The SUV fashion, which is cannibalizing the sales of sedan and minivan bodies, seems to have no end. The SUV segment is the third with the highest sales volume, only surpassed by C and B. Exactly this smaller number of sales of the traditional body made Peugeot reconsider its plans and launched a new generation of 5008 under the same concept, changing the vehicle completely and taking it to the segment of crossovers that such a good result has been presenting. In the last year alone, the French brand launched five all-terrain models. The latter, which we are talking about now, has two clear objectives: to be an international success and to become the best-selling model among seven-seat C-segment SUVs. For this it brings with it a robust design and at the same time technological and urban, counting on the technologies already used by the rest of the Peugeot models. It measures 4,640 mm in length, gaining 110 mm in relation to the previous 5008, while its inter-axle distance is of 2,840 mm. This translates into a much larger interior, which will be noticed quickly in the second row of seats and in the trunk volume, which reaches no less than 1,060 liters when using only five seats. The space of the cabin, folding all the seats (except the driver’s seat) allows loading objects up to 3,200 mm.
Regarding the design, the front kept the brand image with the characteristic headlights currently used by all Peugeot, having many points in common with its smaller brother, the Peugeot 3008. There is no shortage of protections in the lower part of the body, which provide a more adventurous image to the French crossover. In the side view we can see the large size of the 5008, with very horizontal lines and a very long and flat roof that drops in the back practically suddenly, taking advantage of every available cubic centimeter. It has a large glazed surface, and in the unit shown in the images, come wheels with a well designed design and low profile tires, which will be available with a diameter of 17, 18 and 19 inches. If we pay attention, we can see the wide wheelbase of the model, with the wheels practically at the tips and with short projections. The rear of the body has a very clean and horizontal design, accommodating very well the lanterns with a design similar to those introduced by the brand a few years ago by the Peugeot 308. In the upper part includes an aesthetic airfoil, while we can highlight the large mouth of load that together with the floor of the trunk facilitates loading and unloading operations.Peugeot guarantees an interior where the state-of-the-art, fully digitized i-Cockpit is not missing, a small steering wheel with the sight of the instrument panel above the steering wheel itself, and a screen in the center console with a size of 12.3 inches .
On the other hand, the second row of seats has adjustment both in the length and the slope of the backrest, to improve the comfort and to adjust a little more when the seats of the third row are occupied. The Peugeot 5008 will be available with four levels of equipment (Active, Allure, GT Line and GT) and will use the same mechanics of the Peugeot 308 and 3008, since they were developed on the same platform EMP2. Therefore, it will be offered with PureTech 1.2 and 1.6 THP 130 and 165 hp petrol engines, as well as BlueHDi of 120, 150 and 180 hp.Nor will miss a number of assists and aids to conduct a full suite of active safety systems and high doses of infotainment. We can highlight the Focal Hi-Fi system, connectivity Mirror Screen, browser connected to Tom Tom Traffic warnings for real-time control on downhill stretches, automatic emergency brake and collision warning, adaptive cruise control and view 360 degrees. His debut will be at the Paris Motor Show that starts in a few weeks, and the forecast to be in dealerships is the next semester.
2017 – PEUGEOT 5008 GT
The new generation of the Peugeot 5008 is one of the novelties that the French brand prepares to present at the Paris Motor Show from October 1st. This week we had the opportunity to see the first official images of the new Peugeot 5008 2017, which has been completely renovated, leaving aside its monopoly format, revealing a design directed to the side of SUVs, retaining its seven-seat configuration. As with most new Peugeot launches, the new 5008 is no exception and will also include the GT and GT Line finishes, which add an extra sportiness thanks to some improvements in its exterior and interior aesthetics. The GT and GT Line versions receive a differentiated design front, which modifies the shape of the bumper, the headlights antineblina and the grid. In addition, they feature special-shaped alloy wheels, while chrome-plated integrated exhausts are added to the rear. The interior also receives the GT treatment, which includes a flat-bottomed steering wheel with aluminum inserts and leather lining, aluminum pedals and Alcantara tapestry. In mechanical terms the Peugeot 5008 GT uses the most powerful version of the 2.0-liter BlueHDi diesel, which produces 180 horsepower, combined exclusively with the EAT6 six-speed automatic transmission. However, the GT Line finish can accommodate both PureTech and BlueHDI.
2017 – PEUGEOT INSTINCT CONCEPT
This new prototype Peugeot, which uses a plug-in hybrid engine developing 300 hp, is the latest proposal of the French brand for a connected driving experience that uses new technologies and is completely autonomous. One of the highlights is the platform called ‘Internet of Things’ that works in conjunction with the Samsung Artik Cloud and synchronizes with the various user devices so that the car can learn about your lifestyle by changing the driving mode, the interior lighting, the audio system, the interface and even the bank settings. In addition, the Peugeot Instinct Concept has the ability to change its behavior depending on the mood of the driver: for example, if the driver gets out of work tired, the vehicle can take a relaxing driving home even possible after reading the driver’s smartwatch data automobile.Although it is a standalone vehicle, the driver can at any time take control of driving through the i-Device – which sits next to the 9.7-inch center console screen – and replaces the traditional steering wheel and pedals. The seats have been optimized to make the most of the autonomous driving, and can be fully reclined to give their occupants the chance to rest during their trips.
2017 – PEUGEOT L750 R HYBRID CONCEPT
The Peugeot L750 R Hybrid Vision Gran Turismo takes back the path of its predecessor Peugeot L500 R Hybrid Concept , a virtual prototype developed by the brand to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French 500 Indianapolis win with Dario Resta at the wheel of a Peugeot L45.The L500 R, which never materialized in a physical prototype, was a single-seater fitted with a hybrid system with three engines that produced 500 hp. The new design revealed by Peugeot in the L750 R can be considered an evolution of the competition version of this concept, with an aggressive aerodynamic configuration and a modified and much more radical mechanical approach. If the first model was a simple tribute, its version of competition is born with the destiny to come alive in the virtual world of the next version of the Gran Turismo video game, which opens this October. The new Peugeot L750 R Hybrid Vision Gran Turismo has more radical specifications than its predecessor. Made entirely of carbon fiber and with an included monocoque chassis, according to the brand it could be up to 175 pounds lighter than the L500 R Hybrid Concept, scoring on the scale only 825 kilos, which together with its aggressive aerodynamic pack, promises a much more accurate behavior than the previous model. From the mechanical scheme it is only known that it has a traditional combustion engine, whose only known specifications are its power of 588 hp at 10,000 rpm. To it are added two electric motors that deliver a total of 172 hp, therefore, the total combined power is 750 hp, hence its name. Thus, its weight / power ratio is only 1.1 pounds per cv. With all this it is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in only 2.4 seconds.

And to increase safety, the steppe lock protects against theft and is easily accessible even when the vehicle is loaded. And to load so much safely,
Partner has the help of an efficient cushioning and suspension system and standard crankcase protector. Coupled to the engine is the five-speed front and one-aft transmission, with precise couplings that also help create a more comfortable ride.
